Terms of Service
What you agree to when you use Langova, what we owe you, and how money, cancellations and refunds work.
Last updated 19 August 2026
These Terms govern your use of Langova (“Langova”, “we”, “us”), available at langovaprep.com. By creating an account or using the platform you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the platform.
1. Who may use Langova
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering you confirm that you are 18 or over and can enter into a binding contract.
Langova is not for children. If you are under 18, do not create an account and do not submit any personal information to us. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete the data.
You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done through your account. Tell us at hello@langovaprep.com if you believe someone else has access to it.
2. What Langova provides
Langova offers three distinct things, and they are priced separately:
- AI-scored mock exams for IELTS, TOEFL, MUET and Linguaskill, generated and marked automatically.
- Private tutoring with a teacher, at $15/hr in sessions of 2 hours.
- Group classes of 2–5 students at $10/hr a seat, running 3 classes a week.
Scores are estimates, not official results
This is the most important thing on this page. Bands, scores and feedback produced by Langova are generated by automated systems and are an estimate for practice purposes only. They are not issued, endorsed or recognised by the British Council, IDP, Cambridge Assessment English, ETS, the Malaysian Examinations Council, or any other examination body. They carry no standing with any university, employer or immigration authority. Only the official examination board can award you a real score.
We do not guarantee that using Langova will improve your result or that you will reach any particular band. IELTS, TOEFL, MUET and Linguaskill are trademarks of their respective owners; Langova is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any of them.
3. Teachers
Teachers are engaged by Langova and are vetted before being listed. They are not our employees unless their individual contract says so. We schedule sessions, provide the virtual classroom and handle payment; the teaching itself is delivered by the teacher.
If a teacher does not attend a session you paid for, contact us and we will either reschedule it or refund it. See section 6.
4. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Prices are shown in US dollars and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise at checkout.
Exams
A single mock exam costs $1 and the credits it grants expire 30 days after purchase. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and each renewal resets that month’s exam allowance — unused exams do not carry forward.
Private sessions
Sessions are paid in advance, either in full or in instalments where offered. A session credit is consumed when the session is held.
Group classes
A group needs 2 students to run. When you reserve a seat, your card is authorised but not charged. You are charged only when the group is confirmed. If a group does not fill within 6 days, the authorisation is released and you pay nothing. If your payment cannot be captured when the group confirms, the seat is released and offered to someone else.
5. Cancelling and rescheduling
- Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from your billing settings. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not refund part-months.
- Group classes lock 24 hours before a class starts. Changes made before then are free.
- Private sessions may be rescheduled with your teacher subject to their availability.
6. Refunds
We refund in full, without argument, when:
- A group class you paid for is cancelled by us or by the teacher.
- A teacher does not attend a session you paid for.
- You were charged twice for the same thing.
- An exam could not be graded because of a fault on our side — that credit is returned automatically.
We do not generally refund exams you have already taken and received a report for, or sessions you did not attend without notice. If you think your case deserves an exception, email us; we would rather resolve it than have you dispute the charge.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share, resell, publish or redistribute exam papers, passages, recordings or course material from the platform.
- Share your account with anyone else, or let anyone else sit an exam as you.
- Attempt to extract answer keys, scrape the platform, or interfere with how exams are generated or graded.
- Record a class without the consent of everyone in it, or behave abusively toward a teacher or another student.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches this section. Where the breach is serious — distributing exam content, or abuse of a teacher — we may do so without notice and without refund.
8. Your content
Essays, spoken responses and messages you submit remain yours. You grant us the licence needed to run the service: to store them, to process them for grading (including sending them to the automated graders described in our Privacy Policy), and to show them to your teacher and to you.
Exam papers, passages, course material and the platform itself remain ours.
9. Availability
We aim to keep Langova running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue something you have paid for and cannot provide an equivalent, we will refund the unused portion.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Langova is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including, specifically, any exam result, university place, visa or job you did or did not obtain.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use Langova after that means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
Langova is established in Malaysia. These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. This does not remove any protection available to you under the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence.
