Cookie Policy
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. No advertising cookies, no analytics, no third-party trackers.

The short version
Langova does not track you. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party script that follows you around the web. The cookies below exist so the site can remember that you are signed in and reject forged requests. Because they are strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for, no consent banner is required — and that is why you have not seen one.
Cookies we set
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
| Session token next-auth.session-token | Keeps you signed in. Without it every page would ask you to log in again. | 30 days, or when you sign out |
| CSRF token next-auth.csrf-token | Proves a sign-in or form submission genuinely came from you, not from another site acting in your name. | When you close the browser |
| Callback URL next-auth.callback-url | Returns you to the page you were on after signing in. | When you close the browser |
Things stored in your browser that are not cookies
These sit in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and are never sent to us:
- Your recent exam results, so the exams page can show them immediately rather than waiting on a request.
- Which passages you have already seen, so a new exam does not repeat one.
- Whether you dismissed the “confirm your email” notice, so it stays hidden for a week instead of reappearing on every page.
Clearing your browser data removes all of these. Nothing breaks; the pages refetch.
Third parties
Two services may set their own cookies when you actually use them, not merely by visiting the site:
- Stripe — when you reach checkout, for payment processing and fraud prevention.
- Daily.co — when you join a live class, to run the video call.
Embedded lesson videos are served from YouTube in no-cookie mode and from Vimeo, so watching one does not add you to an advertising profile.
Turning cookies off
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie means you will not be able to sign in — there is no way around that, since being signed in is what the cookie records.
